Museum and Campus Visit

Saturday Morning

A Walk Down Memory Lane

Our Grossmont Museum and Campus Tour was an absolute blast! About 20–25 classmates joined in for a nostalgic morning of stories, laughter, and a few happy surprises. The visit began in the on-campus Museum, Connie and Lynn Baer were fabulous hosts — full of great stories and fun facts — and their beautifully curated displays featured memorabilia from our own Class of ’75 right on the countertops.

The walking tour that followed offered a wonderful mix of old and new. Highlights included the new Drama, Theatre, Arts, Choir, and Student Services buildings — home to our class bench — as well as the Joe Musgrove Padres Mural and the historic Old Main Building. But the biggest surprise of the day was the brand-new Astronaut Mural going up on the Innovations Building next to the Museum. Principal Dan Barnes and several current teachers joined us to celebrate this inspiring project honoring Grossmont’s three astronaut alumni. The talented muralist Paul Jimenez of Ground Floor Murals (who also created the Joe Musgrove mural) was onsite — and began with Ellen’s portrait while she was in town for our 50th Reunion!
